Why does AI think I'm multiple people?

Instead it separates your experience into disconnected pieces -- what I call identity islands -- or splits your profile across multiple perceived identities. This is an entity resolution problem that affects both traditional search and AI search.

Why did AI confuse me with someone else?

When AI cannot confidently validate your identity from available signals, it may fill in gaps using data from other people with the same or similar names. This is especially common when you have a common name, work in a field where others share your name, or when your online presence has gaps that make it harder for AI to distinguish you. The result is that someone else's work history, expertise, or identity gets merged with yours.

Why is AI mixing up my work history?

AI search systems prioritize signals that are consistent, repeated, and trusted. If your work history includes roles at high-authority organizations, transitions between industries, or experience spread across multiple platforms without clear connections, AI may struggle to sequence your career correctly. It may also over-weight older signals from former employers, causing your current work to be underrepresented or attributed incorrectly.

Why are AI search results about me wrong?

Data brokers, outdated profiles, and high-authority third-party sources can all feed incorrect information into the systems AI relies on.
